"I don't mean to judge, but...."

Saturday last, August 23rd, Irish Pure Friesian Club members exhibited very shiny British Friesian calves and cows at the annual Iverk Show. The entrants were carefully judged by Victor O'Sullivan, Lisduff Herd.

The club had six exhibitor herds across the three classes, with a particularly busy calf class - always a highlight, and with a dedicated gallery of images at the end of this post. The results are here: https://www.iverkshow.ie/show-results/8797

The Heifer in milk class was won by Grenan Bernice 4314, full results here: https://www.iverkshow.ie/show-results/9151

The Calf Handlers

The levels of preparation and concentration were off the chats this year, and Shannon Daniels beamed throughout! Her brother Toby though takes a dim view of fun at Iverk and is an altogether more serious calf handler. He also takes a dim view of suggestions that maybe he should try a sausage roll for mid-morning snack, instead of going straight for the chocolate.

Michael O'Keeffe was followed in this showing craziness by his sisters Emily and Orla this year, but it was noted that he did not bring them to the refreshment tent, keeping that pro-tip to himself!

Maebh Mahony got her younger brother Brian in to the ring this year, both showing smashing calves in a very competitive class.

Jo Quealy brought in her cousin Eimear Ryan to help polish and lead the calves. An important injection of Tipp-ness in to the mix.
