Awards Season 2021

The glamourous awards season is underway and the Irish Pure Friesian Club's members are out in style!

In the Waterford & Tipperary Herds Competition, John Long's Roadmill Meinse Princess, a GP80 2 year old won best protein % heifer over 5000kgs milk.



The IHFA's National Herds competition awards have also been announced

Bryan Daniels presented with award for Highest EBI cow by PJ Kelly, IHFA President.


The award for the Highest EBI Holstein Friesian cow in the IHFA herdbook was won by Raheenarran BCG Dairine 2 VG85

  • EBI €371 (October ’21 evaluation)

  • Currently in her 12th lactation Raheenarran BCG Dairine VG85 has a lifetime yield to date of 75,305 kgs milk, 6,017 kgs milk solids, 4.47 % Fat, 3.52 % Protein.

  • She has a lifetime Calving Interval performance rating of 366 days based on twelve lactations to date.



The National Herds Competition winners were announced, with Peader Healy's Firoda Herd in 1st place, 2nd place going to Pat Cleary of Carrickshock and 3rd place to Michael Spillane of Mountain Herd. The picture on the left above shows the winners with PJ Kelly, IHFA President.

Class 9 in the Photographic Competition, Irish Pure Friesian Heifer in-milk is Grenan Cita 3469 GP83.



John & Sylvia Allen’s Carrickbrack Mason Amy 10 EX92 won Class 10, Irish Pure Friesian Cow in-milk.
