Axa Insurance National Herds Competition

Irish Pure Friesian Club welcomes sponsors for herd awards

Big announcement for the club! We're delighted to welcome Axa Insurance as sponsors of our national herds competition and awards for the next three years.

The Irish Pure Friesian Club is made up of committed British Friesian breeders and commercial dairy farmers from all over Ireland. We have an active WhatsApp group, an annual National Open Day, and are represented each year in dedicated dairy classes at the Iverk Show.

Operating under the auspices of the IHFA, the Irish Pure Friesian Club represents the traditional British Friesian cow; a robust dairy cow with excellent fertility and longevity, producing valuable male and female calves. A sustainable choice.

The National Herds Competition

This year, the club has redesigned its National Herds Competition. Growing the number of entrants to be judged to 16 was the first achievement, with herds from Donegal, Limerick, Tipperary, Laois and Waterford entered. This year’s judge is Mr Brian Dalby of the Ringswood Herd (UK), the judge of last year’s National Herds Competition in the UK. Now, we have a sponsor to support our club’s growth and breed promotion through this competition.

Big thanks to Axa Insurance for coming on board, and we'll bring updates from the competition judging and results over the next few weeks, with the awards being presented at the National Open Day on June 29th.
